Morgan's Musings

Good evening friends! Just wanted to recap my Thursay...Physical Geography almost put me to sleep when I wasn't overwhelmed by the highly advanced (yet flawed by asinine details). Art history did the exact same thing...sometimes going too in depth is bad--the pressure will crush you! Economics had an exam, which I thought would be ulcer-inducing , but was actually a moderate challenge. Studying yesterday helped so much! Later, I watched TV, confirming the frightening rumor I heard in the elevator that armed psychos were harming innocent citizens in nearby Montgomery County. This kind of reminds me of that Joseph Palzynski event that happened about a year or so ago. It seems like our state seems to generate supervillian-like criminals who don't think twice about killing police officers and people they've never met.

On a lighter note, I went to my Jewish History class and had an amusing discussion about the Messiah, Jesus, and conflicting ideas...see, there is this lovely young Jewish lady in the class (with a shiny nose ring) who's father was Jewish and mother was Catholic, so she was raised "half-and-half" [verbatim, as she said it]. Then our Professor, an older (not old , just "older"), devout Jewish lady with pretty frizzy hair, adamantly stated that she COULD NOT believe in 2 religions! "Somewhere, there gonna conflict," she said with a giggle. "I'm not gonna tell ya where or how though, because you seem very happy with how you are now!" She did allude to the problem of two sabbaths a week. Maybe there is a place in the world for the Unitarian Church . Oh yeah, we also got to look at real live etrogs [citrons] used in sukkot. They are a pretty fruit.

Speaking about Judaism, Andypants thought my dear Aly was Jewish yesterday. I told him that she went to William & Mary , so he assumed that she was a "richie". I assumed so, knowing that her father was a banker in the town over from my hometown. So, using inductive reasoning, he assumed Mr. Dubya (we'll say Aly's last name was "Dubya") was a Jew (as many past financiers and bankers were, as gentiles were restricted to go into the profession in antiquity). I told him she told me she was agnostic (being the communist she was... :) ). I remember an obscure remark she made about Catholicism once in Social Issues class, but she could've been Jewish. I don't know. I'd still love her even if she was a Mormon (no offense Jess Olsen if you see this :) ) I'm not gonna run around publishing a "Who's Jewish, who's not," thing here...whatever...I have no problem with religion...I'm Christian (or try hard to be anyhoo). This college is a rich tapestry of different cultures and ideas. I love the diversity. It was one of several deciding factors for coming here.

Now what were we chatting about, friends? Oh, yes, how my day went. At dinner I ate with my friends again: Crapmaster , NitaPita Julie Caparatto, her blonde comrade (no, I ain't no commie (Mr. Keys flashback), I just needed another word for "friend") and the darling Joanna (Karina's cuz-in). We had a lovely chat, and I learned so much more about her. Joanna looks different from her cousin, but has a bubbly, cute personality like her. Shiny hair, animated eyes, and delicious smile, she is tall and voluptuous to the n th degree. She says she not the athletic type, but she can run 22 miles (no, that isn't a typo; I'm not crappin' you) and she is taking up kayaking ! Athletic chicks make me "thorny" too...must be those sexy sportsbras... :)

Anyhoo, we had a nice conversation and shared phone extentions (yeah!)! Wow, what a nice time. It's been a great day (except for the mass murders...may those b#st#rd$ rot. So evil.). I will have to tell you more about Aly Dubya later. And that IM thing, before it gets old.

Next time--More on Aly (possibly a top ten list) & the IM thang

P.S.: Andypants has found out that: 1] He is mentioned here and 2] His pseudonym is "Andypants"....
